We usually reply within a few days. If you are reporting a calculation error, it helps enormously if you include:

• the page you were on,
• the values you entered,
• the result you got, and
• what you expected instead — ideally with a source or your supplier's figure.

Suggesting a new calculator

Requests for new materials and new job types are welcome and do get built. The most useful requests name a specific situation, for example "quantities for a post hole footing at a given frost depth" rather than "more concrete tools".

Corrections and data sources

If you work for a supplier or an agency and have better regional density, coverage or pricing data than the national averages used here, please get in touch — regional data would make these calculators substantially more accurate, and corrections are applied to the underlying data and rebuilt across the whole site.
